Questions & answers
Before you make
a place on your shelf.
What is available, what the examples mean, and what is still to be announced.
Can I use Folium X now?
The app is in development and has not been released. You can explore the sample library, prepared encounter and reading workbench on this website. These are demonstrations, not access to an account or your own library.
Who is the first release for, and what will it cost?
The first release is planned for the United States, for adults 18 and over. Monthly membership is planned. Pricing and the release date have not been announced, and enrollment is closed.
Which devices will it support?
Release device requirements have not been announced on this website. The website demonstrations work in a web browser; they do not establish which devices the released app will support.
Will I be able to photograph shelves or import a catalogue?
Shelf-by-shelf intake, including shelf photographs with uncertain matches offered for review, is part of the planned product described on What it does. This website does not accept your photographs or catalogue. Supported import formats and release limits have not been announced here.
What about offline access and exporting my library?
Offline app behavior and release import/export formats have not been announced on this website. Today, the website workbench can create a text download of a prepared path and notes you choose to include. That is not an app library export.
How will cancellation and deletion work?
Membership enrollment is closed. Membership cancellation terms, app data deletion and the app’s privacy policy need to be published with confirmed release details before enrollment opens. The current privacy page describes this website only. For removal from the release-notice list, use the current support address on the release-news page.
Are these live AI answers?
No. The website’s interpretations and reading paths were prepared with AI assistance. They are source-linked examples you can question, revise or decline. The interactive controls select prepared material; they do not contact an AI service.
Does owning a book give the app its full text?
No. A catalogue record, an edition’s text and a physical copy are different things. The examples use identified public-domain editions. A book on your shelf may be a different edition or translation; its full text is not inferred from its cover or ownership. See sources and method.
Why distinguish work, edition and copy?
Two copies of the same book can have different histories, inscriptions, shelves and loans. A work connects them; an edition identifies a particular published text; a copy is the individual object. Try the copy-history example.
Will my writing be saved or sent?
The website’s reading notes stay in the open page. Appearance preferences are stored locally. Copying, downloading or emailing is your choice. The release form is a separate Jotform service with its own notice. Read the website privacy information.
What does the release-notice signup do?
It lets you request a release notification by email. It does not create an app account, reserve membership or take payment. Read the form’s notice and consent before submitting. Open the release-news page.
Can I help shape the project?
Yes. Describe a task you hoped to complete, what you tried, and where the website became unclear. The feedback guide helps keep the report useful without sending private library records.
